The Road That Remembers Him

Some Roads are Chosen,

Some Roads Choose You

Alfur Burnham walks the long, forgotten byways of Britain as if the land itself has not yet released him.
A distant home behind him. A past he cannot forgive or forget. Only the steady grip of his new boots on the road — soft leather, impossibly old, carry a memory that does not belong to him.
They draw him north.
Always north.
And though he believes he walks alone, the road remembers his name, calling him.

At the edge of the world, where the sea breathes against black stone and the sky hangs low with secrets, the island waits.

Skye.

A place where the veil thins, where the wind carries voices older than the clans, where the hills remember every footstep.

Alfur feels the pull long before he sees the distant hills — a tightening in the chest, a melody in the air, a whisper threading through the mist.

The island knows him.

The island has always known him.

And now, at last, it is calling him home.

The Fairy Bridge

In a quiet places beyond the bridge, she waits.
The fairy queen.
Older than the clans.
Older than the hills.
Older than the first whisper of silk spun into the world.
She has watched him wander the byways, watched the boots carry him toward her island home.
Between one heartbeat and the next, she steps through the veil — not seen, but felt, like a breath against the soul.
His return is no accident.
It is a summons. And she has waited lifetimes for him to answer.

Fragments from the Road

These are scattered notes gathered along my wandering path. Here there are fragments of lore, thoughts from the byways and moments when the veil of perception lifts and reality peeks through.

Each entry is one step more on the journey.

How real is real? Can we trust our sense of sight, touch, taste, hearing, and any of the myriad senses that monitor our internal and external environment? With all our interactions with the external world, our senses return to the brain a limited portion of the informat…

What if it were True?

What if it were True?

What fascinates me about myths is the question ‘what if they were true?’ How would we explain them if we assume they are true. Some would say you cannot make that assumption. But, lets step outside of our modern orthodoxy and consider why we naturally assume they a…

The Problem of Superposition

The Problem of Superposition

At the heart of our reality lies a state of being where nothing is certain. As we slice and dice our material world, we pass through the physical structures, we confront in our daily lives and enter a realm of molecules and atoms from which all things are made.

About the one who walks between worlds

I write about the places where the world feels thin—where a road, a shoreline, or a half‑remembered story can tilt you sideways into something older than memory.
Elven Boots began as a quiet obsession with Skye, its folklore, and the way certain landscapes feel as if they’re looking back.

I’ve spent years moving between disciplines—science, psychology, philosophy, the arts—trying to understand why certain stories lodge in us like splinters of light.
By day, I work with ideas, research, and real‑world complexity. By night, I follow the roads that don’t appear on maps: the ones that lead to fairy queens, forgotten lineages, and islands that refuse to let you go.
Fragments of Silk is the first step on that path: a story about a man with no past, a pair of impossible boots, and an island that remembers him better than he remembers himself.
